Prophetic Evangelism
August 20th, 2010 Share your thoughts »
As I was answering a question on FB with a minister in Scotland today, I felt the subject of great importance that we were discussing, “Prophesy” and “evangelism”. Do prophesy and evangelism work together? Is it Biblical?
In a short and quick answer, I would say absolutely YES! The problem comes in when people have a misunderstanding of prophesy, and a closed mind on what is evangelism. As I cannot go into the full details here, I do feel to say that in John 4, when Jesus asked the Samaritan woman at the well in Sychar, Samaria, for a drink of water, she first got messed up by the religious “laws” of a Jew “asking” a Samaritan. But the words of Jesus about drinking and never thirsting again intrigued her, so she asked for this water of no more thirst…it would be easier if she did not have to go all the way to the well everyday to get water… She still was thinking in the physical mindset. The very next statement was Jesus speaking into the “supernatural” realm….leading into a display of it. He asked her to go get her husband…which He obviously knew she had 5 husbands before the man she was with then. She then realized that He was a prophet…maybe the Messiah.
The one perspective I would like to look at right now is in John 4:28-29 ”The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” We must live our lives as worshippers of God…in Spirit and in Truth! Truth was revealed by what Jesus said, and the “Spirit” spoke through the prophetic insight He had for her.
The “prophetic” is to be used by us to give God the Glory, so He will be worshiped and praised through it. The prophetic must never be used to bring “glory” to us….and if it is….then the person using this gift wrongly is living as a “false” prophetic person….and that is a problem in the “church” today. The “spirit of prophesy” never over rights the gospel…but the “true gospel” releases the “spirit of prophesy”.
The life of the Messiah was prophesied for many generations…Jesus was the prophetic answer to the prophesies….you and I are the “answers” to the “prophetic” words….or commands for the church….given through the Bible….to do the life of the “gospel” on this earth….to the nations…for God’s Glory!!! Soooo, prophesy in such a way that God gets ALL the Glory!

Today

The time-frame of “today” is like a stepping stone into the destiny of future that is ordained by God. If we live in the “call” of today that God has destined for us, then today will launch us into the destiny of His future plan in our life, and that will turn this moment of time into history with positive testimony. Testimony can be either positive or negative for the Kingdom of God. It is the experience that we choose to walk in today. But even the “negative” testimony of past can be turned to positive today if we learn and grow through it. If our walk is living in God’s plan, then we step into our destiny, and the testimony of this moment called “today” will glorify Him.
Every great man and women that truly desires God’s name to be above all names, does not live to have their own name known.
Have an awesome and blessed “today”,

The Certainties of God
August 6th, 2010 Share your thoughts »
A thought just came to me while the kids are enjoying Six Flags, and I’m sitting in a Starbucks in the Los Angeles area catching up, ….”the certainties of God”…What are the certainties of God? Are there any certainties in life today? Yes, there are…many; I will not touch on the obvious!
Obedience is always rewarded…obedience will not give you salvation, but a life of “salvation” will guide you into obedience. And that life of “obedience” will directly relate to the “mansion” of His Kingdom that you will “live” in heaven….at hand…mansions of blessings…in relationships, family, business, LIFE! You can’t “do” to have salvation, but salvation will justify what to do. Salvation in the terms of “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” Acts 16:31. And your “depth”, or “level” of believing will justify or dictate the level of His power or authority you exude or see in your LIFE….believe a little, or REALLY believe a lot. Believe He is there, or believe and follow Him. The closer you are to Him, the more of Him will be in you….actions….and deeds…..and that is an absolute!
God is looking for us to live in the “absolutes” of His Kingdom by giving us a free will to choose to live there. Wrap your mind around that one!
Going to church should never be about what church can do for you, but about what you can do for church.
Church: The bride of Christ, gathering place of Christians, the coming together of the body of Christ…Unity.
Blessings,

Created for His Kingdom
July 21st, 2010 Share your thoughts »
As I was reading in Jeremiah 33 this morning, a particular set of verse’s stood out to me. “Thus says the Lord who made it, the Lord who formed it to establish it (the Lord is His name): ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Jer 33:2-3
The Lord has formed this world to establish His kingdom on it. And as we “call” to Him, He will answer us, and He will show us great and mighty things that we do not know today! I feel that we have entered into a time were the “great and mighty things” are being revealed by Him to the people that are hungry to “call” to Him. We must realize that the “lifestyle” we chose to live in helps, or hinders us, from the ability to live in the life “called” by Him….and the ability for each of us to live in the “calling”…to call Him….that helps justify His answer to us…or maybe which answer He gives us!
The next few verses talk about the “houses of the city”. It is time to come together as the “houses” of the city, not to fill our own places….but to unite together as the Bride of Christ….and fill His kingdom with the victories of this earth….and He will show us great and mighty things which we do not know, or have seen yet!!
Hope to see you all at http://windword.ca/index.php/programs/sundays/…every Sunday at 10:00 am. It’s ROCKIN!!
Live and be blessed, Brent

The Face of God
July 15th, 2010 Share your thoughts »
The determining factor of how we see the face of God, depends on what is in our heart. This will also either open up or shut down His manifest presence in our lives.
More important than ever, we have entered a time where our hearts must be pure for God. Where our desire to please man can no longer take the lead in our lives, but instead our desire to see the “face of God” will outweigh every other thing in life. Then as we live in the face of God, we learn that the “men” that also have hearts after God, will be pleased with our lives that are sold out for Him….not them….the same thing our leaders should be sold out for in their lives!
More than ever, we must be a part of a church that the leaders are actively pursuing the “face” of God, living lives of truth, honor, and integrity.
Hope to see you this Sunday 10:00 am at Windword warehouse, 31726 South Fraser Way, Abbotsford, BC. It’s gonna rock!! www.windword.ca
